2018 Ford Escape SE gas dropping fast after fill up

Asked by GuruB9X2F Dec 04, 2018 at 03:31 PM about the 2018 Ford Escape SE FWD

Question type: General

I just filled my Ford Escape with the capless fuel tank, but then when I  started
driving, I noticed the gas dropping rapidly. I can't figure out why this would
happen-anyone else experience this?

1 Answer

Happened to me. My check engine light came on eventually. I needed to replace the Canister Purge Valve which deals with evaporating gas. It cost $150 and my 2011 Escape was back to normal with the gas miles.
