Sudden Drop in Gas Mileage

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
2017 Toyota Yaris Ia. I had my car serviced, oil change, fuel injector, etc several
months ago. My MPG went down immediately from 40 mpg to 32 mpg. I read
that sometimes a special button near the oil filter gets pressed causing the car
to factory reset. Please help.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet! What did they do to your injectors?
Supposedly they just did a fuel injector cleaning. After 4 1/2 months still only getting about 32 mpg versus 40. Is there something I need to have them look at? Also, this drop happened immediately following a service on the oil filter as it was improperly fitted, and leaked, after the oil change service.
An oil change is not going to do this but if all the oil leaked out you could have engine damage. You should have a mechanic scan for codes and maybe do a live scan to see if it is running rich or some other issue.
Well I have to say that the car runs fine because the oil leak was minimal and was fixed ASAP! So I’m back to the drawing board. :/ By the way, your condescending tone in your first reply email was not appreciated! I should, “not believe everything you read on the internet” was not helpful and by the way, I’m contacting you through the internet as well! So...I shouldn’t believe what you advise either? Many of us are very aware of our cars and their maintenance needs. Do not assume, I’m sure you know what that means, that when someone has a question that they are ignorant. Hopefully, you’ve helped others and didn’t abuse your auto knowledge. In His Love and Mine, Chris "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16b
