Worth the fix?

Asked by rob Jan 19, 2019 at 09:03 PM about the 2006 Lincoln Navigator Luxury 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replaced the cam sensor twice, 2 different
mechanics, within a couple weeks as this was the
code reading wrong.  After each repair it ran fine
for 30 to 40 miles then the engine light came back
on.  Slight rattle at higher speeds and occasional
slight delay in acceleration at times.  Took it back
to mechanic and they suggested its time to get rid
of it.  2006 with 260,000  miles.  Have driven it
around locally with know trouble but hesitant.

I suspect the cam chain or the phasers. The repair cost could exceed the cars value.
