Question type: General
Okay is that a problem is when I'm
going uphill I hear rattling as far
as when my transmission goes I
don't hear no grinding or nothing
it's slow on the shifting so I know I
got to change out the solenoid
but I'm wondering if the rattling
when I'm going uphill is coming
from my tort converter

yes. the transmission and/or Engine mounts are possibly oily and degraded~ sometimes one cannot tell when there is a crack in the rubber~ my 59 pontiac went to full acceleration when the mount separated~ it was scary~

An auto matic has clutches also and when they wear out you can get a rattle/vibration/slipping under load in a low gear , That car is a performance car that got beat on , We used to call them disco cars , and the tranny needs a rebuild probably that can include a torque converter and none of this will be cheap
Could it be coming from the engine? It might be spark/knock denotation. If there's a problem with the knock sensor the ignition timing might not be adjusting for the increased load. Is your check engine light on and does this vehicle require premium gasoline? Hope that helps! Jim
