If you car seems to run on 87 octane and your owner's manual does not specify higher, then do your test...to find if higher octane justifies the cost...ie, figure your mileage on a couple of tanks of each, in similar driving conditions...Any extra mileage on the higher octane...if so, does it justify the cost? May not indeed.
