Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've had my Lincoln for over a year now and I'm
pretty sure I've bought more parts for it in the last
few months than I really want to. I continue to get a
misfire on cylinders 5,7,&8 I have changed all sprk
plugs and coils, I've had to get my MAF sensor
cleaned as it was causing a Lean code ( overheats
the vehicle) and I've had both direct line catalytic
converters replaced and I'm still having the issue,
now there sounds like something is banging around
under the vehicle around about where the oil drain
is but when I look I don't see anything, anyone have
any ideas as to what's going on with this thing?

That banging noise is the rod bearing are bad. They can be replaced with out removing engine from vehicle but you will have to have some mechanical experience to do the job.
