Why is my car overheating?

I have a 01 lincoln continental,  just replaced
the alternator and now it's overheating!! The
fluids are full and the belt is on correctly.

well how hot?..fans still coming on?...check/change thermostate...

The gauge is going all the way to hot.. the fans are still coming on

Purge the cooling system...in this car are critical.
