Have the coolant tested for combustion gasses, you might have a bad head gasket.

Gas analyzer or the old school chemical test make sure the engine has been run before testing as gases dissipate. Call around don't fall for the old we can pressure test routine! A modern facility has a gas analyzer can do this in minutes for a minor fee.
Mechanic is best that is equipped with an analyzer, but auto parts stores sells a product that will do this also.
