Has a loud squawk when not accelerating. Not all the time. Usually on colder
mornings. Does NOT squawk when accelerating. Let off the gas just slightly
and it starts, put on the gas just to increase speed a degree and it stops.
Coasting in gear or in neutral it squawks. Accelerating while in neutral and the
squawk continues.
Maybe a bad idler bearing on the serpentine belt. How do you accelerate in neutral?
Not actually accelerate in neutral, just give a little gas to see if the squawk would stop but it continues. Around 50 degrees or so this morning and I drove 30 to work with no squawk. Is there any other trouble shooting I can do before taking her in? Or any other ideas? My guess is it will never be squawking for a technician to hear...
