1998 Ford escort battery died and so did transmission

Asked by Sms1ele Jan 25, 2020 at 08:12 PM about the 1998 Ford Escort 4 Dr SE Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 Ford escort my daughter was driving she went to school Tuesday
morning left her lights on and the battery died. I had a buddy in the area jump start the
car and when my daughter tried to pull out of the parking spot the car would not move.
The transmission would enter reverse but when you give it gas it would not move. I
pushed the car out of the parking spot and was able to drive the car. I feels like the car
is fighting itself in reverse, it will not budge.

the two might be unrelated. But have a mechanic or transmission shop determine if a solenoid failed.
