Why does my Ford escort still not run?

Asked by DylanWalker27 Apr 01, 2021 at 03:11 AM about the 1998 Ford Escort 4 Dr SE Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Makes no sense, I had broke a strand off the
serpentine belt that cut thru the crankshaft
sensors wires, after replacing the sensor, wires
and connecter to the crankshaft position sensor
the car would not fire up again. I checked timing
after that, jumped a few teeth, so replaced the
timing belt, new water pump and got it back in
time, and still nothing, just cranks, so since then
I have replaced the camshaft sensor, the ccrm,
the coil pack, the crank sensor again, new
plugs. No fuses are blown from what I could tell.
But still not getting fuel pressure or not getting
spark, no spark on the coil pack, no spark on
the plugs. This has really upset me, to go from
what should’ve been a simple fix, to hundreds of
dollars later and still absolutely nothing, help me
please.

Since you know the valve timing jumped you need to run a compression test. You might have an interference engine. If you do the valves got bent when the timing belt jumped. If all cylinders test very low or zero that's what has happened. Hope that helps! Jim
