What gas octane should I be using for my
2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee? Owners manual
says 87 but wanted to see if a higher was
recommended.

Use what it says. Higher can put deposits in engine and cost you more at same time.

Using a higher grade will NOT put deposits in the engine. Where do you people get your information? Use what is recommended. Running higher octane than necessary will only waste your money and not cause any real performance advantage on most vehicles.

No on deposits as premium fuels often have higher quality additive packages. Premium in a good sound engine will actually make slightly less deposits, but the difference is very small.
