Pulled off coolant hose and sprayed coolant everywhere.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i was trying to get to the throttle body on my 2005 mazda 6 s and when I
pulled off the coolant hose it sprayed hot coolant everywhere. After when I
flushed the coolant the engine light came on and pulled a code that was for
the purge valve. Could that be the reason for the light because I recently
purchased a new fuel filler cap but it was aftermarket. And so the light came
off and back on twice.

Please never pull off a hot hose. The purge I believe is the evac system and it could be related to the gas cap.
