my car was left in the on position but not running and battery died replaced it and now car still wont start

Do this if you want but to reset your starting system take your battery cables and touch the positive to the negative and the negitave to the positive just touch them to the battery dont hold them to it or you will fry your entire car.

when my boyfriend tried jumping the old battery he got shocked could that have fried my car

so I called a dealer ship they said it would need to be reprogramed cause the car is not telling it self to start?????
