car stops, then goes?

I have a 2002 Mazda Millenia. Its and automatic. Yesterday while driving the car completely stopped like a pause, then continued for a moment then repeated the action. I dont know if it  is and anti theft probelm, or a glitch between the gas and the peddle? Do you have any idea what the problem could be?

You don't mention if the vehicle stalled and needed to be restarted, or just hesitated. At any rate, this could be a number of things, anywhere from the transmission and one of the solenoids in it, to the throttle position or input/output speed sensors to the trans. Suggest having this diagnosed by the dealership.
