I was wondering if a rear end differential from a 2004 Mazda Tribute would fit into a 2002 Mazda Tribute with the same engine

YES THEY ARE INTERCHANGEABLE IF THEY HAVE THE SAME NUMBERS OF SENSORY PLUGS UNDERNEATH. MAKE SURE THEY BOTH HAVE ONE OR TWO. 2001 THROUGH 2005 WILL WORK.
