Is the Renegade a quality vehicle?

Asked by Roger Feb 12, 2019 at 10:11 AM about the 2018 Jeep Renegade Latitude

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I'm trying to determine if I'm going to purchase a 2018 Nissan Rogue SV or a 2018
Jeep Renegade Latitude. Both have similar mileage...I've read some pretty bad
reviews on the Renegade but I have to say, I liked driving the one I test drove. I just
don't know about the overall quality of the vehicle and if it would last me as long as
the Rogue....I need some real input from someone who's worked on them and
knows more than your average sales person...

The Jeep Renegade is probably gonna have cheaper parts and it's obviously gonna have more of an American "Semi-Luxury" feel but those cars are kinda overbuilt in the sense that they're made to last a long time. I live in a small town and we have 7 of them around and only 1 has had problems and it was an alignment issue but that was driver error.

Jeeps are Fiats which means they are not very reliable. Do your research before buying a car! The Nissan has the infamous Nissan CVT which means I would not buy it either.

Nissans come with CVT transmission which are complete garbage. They know that the CVT transmissions are junk but they continue to install them. The customer is left with the repair bill when the transmission dies.

DO NOT BUY!! Junk! Nothing but problems with mine. Been in garage more times than in my driveway. All warranty work! Have a lemon law attorney as we speak. Jeep refusing to do anything but throw parts at it in hopes it eventually gets “fixed”

Neither! Jeep has a terrible 9-speed trans and Rouge has a terrible cvt. 9-speed has been nothing but trouble in every application including Honda, Acura and Fiat.

The same and only zfe 9 speed transmission is in the land rover, acura and i few others. A very very smart man engineered the zfe and no need to talk about a transmission you know nothing about. Ive had one for 85k and its nice in 9th gear. At 150mph.

The wiring is shoddy, and connectors are almost imossible to separate without breaking. Fog lights burn out like matches. Can't find replacement parts. Parts you have depended on in the past are made out of plastic here. I dont think I'd do one of these again.

Ever sense jeep made there moves after or around 2002 and changed to the 3.7 joke engine I only bought one to learn never ever again ...A jeep isn't a jeep unless it has a 4.0 like the previous older jeeps , these 3.7 with the junk transmissions simply trash in my opinion and I would never own one again .Think they should call them Jokes not Jeeps now....I think people are starting to realize now , I hope....this is my opinion and experiance...
