where does a single wire purple/grey go that runs from under driverside

replaced my water pump noticed a lose disconnected wire purple/grey that runs
from under my stearing wheel to under the hood i cant crank my car now HELP

Something may have gone bad by pure coincidence , check for proper spark , fuel pressure and injector pulse , I've seen dead end wires before in cars and I think they are part of a generic harness that includes other things for different models . If it ran before it should still run ,Unless you were under the dash yanking at wires .
