2018 Honda CRV surges from idle intermittently

My new CRV (3000 miles) surges from stop
occasionally, like one time out of 50 normal starts.
It’s like my foot is suddenly on a stone. Gentle
press, nothing. Press harder, nothing again. Press
still harder, car leaps forward. The “stone” feeling
warns of the coming surge, so I’ve learned to ride
the brake w left foot to avoid hitting the car in front.  
Haven’t noticed the problem when accelerating
from coasting to corner speed, so maybe the
problem appears only at 700 rpm idle.

Yep, did that earlier. Technician didn’t experience it on his drive. That’s when I decided to log the starts (1 surge in 51 normal starts), so it’s no wonder the tech didn’t see it In his test drive. Maybe I suggest he take the car for a couple hours?
