Truck dies when I put it into drive

Asked by GuruBF47S Jan 20, 2019 at 12:13 PM about the 1998 Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

98 Ford explorer starts fine. On occasion when I
put it into drive it dies happens about once a week
for last month, if I try to start it back up it does fire
back up, if I let it sit over night it'll fire right up the
next day and I won't have any problem with it again
for a while. What may be causing this?
