I had an Audi Avant A4 wagon. It kept having a problem with the oil filter and its size. Have you heard of anything that sounds like this problem?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Dear sirs.
I had an Audi A4 Avant wagon. It kept having a problem with the engine and an incorrect oil filter. It seems it was to small for the car. It had to be repaired all the time until they discovered that it was caused by an undersized oil filter.
Have you heard of this situation before?
Please advise.
Thank you
Louis Owen

Dear Louis Owen (louis)-- Yes, I have heard of this problem before and the problem is not unique to your 2000 Audi A4. It is most important that you use the correct size oil filter on whatever car you are talking about. Many people I know rely on dealership parts departments for their oil filters to avoid the chance of using the wrong filter for their make and model. Good luck from Bovan.
