Can a 2018 Chevy Equinox 2.0 turbo FWD be flat towed behind an RV? A dealer told me yes,and sent me info from the Chevy learning center printed up that verified this. I bought the car. The manual does not list this model as flat towable. It has a nine speed transmission. Any idea out there? It makes me mad that the dealer said yes but now I am not sure it can be!

I would use a tow dolly. Dealers claim all sorts of BS but you should verify the information that they sent you before doing anything else.

They sent me a sheet from the “Chevrolet Center of Learning” stating it could be flat towed!

Well I verified it with the fact sheet they gave me! From “Chevrolet Center of Learning”. So we bought it.

We also bought a 2018 Chevy Equinox 2.0L Turbo 9 speed. The dealer also told us it could be flat towed. The dealership’s answer is based on a 2019 Chevy Equinox 2.0L Turbo 9 speed in which the 2019 can be flat towed. I contacted Chevrolet.com. Why can you flat tow a 2019 and not a 2018? It has the same 2.0L Turbo, same 9 speed, same transmission, same drivetrain. Chevrolet could not answer my question. All they said is you have to follow the manual instructions. The 2019 Good Sam Dingy Towing pamphlet says they didn’t have time to test it in 2018. Anyone out there have an answer to my question or have tried flat towing a 2018?
