YES MOST DO....PUT IN YOUR SEARCH ENGINE > What is a differential IN a car
The differential is part of the rear gear assembly and all cars have a differential (with the exception of some electric cars). The mustang has and 8.8" diameter ring gear and the differential could be of the locking or non locking type (probably not at all important to you).

All RWD (rear wheel drive) cars are equipped with rear differentials. the 98 mustang 4.6 has a 8.8" Diff where the 98 3.8 v6 has a 7.5". The other difference between the two is that the 8.8 comes equipped with a traction lock unit which locks the rear left and rear right wheel together. Did you have any specific questions about the diff or was the question purely quantitative?
