Facilitating sale of leased car to friend prior to end of lease term

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I want to know the CarGurus price charged to
each the buyer and seller for the following
situation:  current lease is 18 months into 35
month lease and want to terminate now and
sell the car to a friend (private party).  

Need to know expenses and understand sales
tax due to lessor and by the buyer ?

You can't sell something you don't own. Basically a lease is a long term rental agreement. You can talk to the leasing company about ending the lease but that's about it. Especially since you're not that far into the lease. You can't sell the vehicle to someone else. Hope that helps! Jim

You might be able to swap the lease to your friend, basically the friend will make the lease payments till the end and hand it in. Contact the owner of the vehicle , the information is on your lease documents.
