Bearing

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2015 ram 1500 limited edition. I replaced
all the bearings from the differential and took it a
test drive. After a mile in the drive it started a
whining noise then the drive shaft came off. The
parts guy said it was the pinion bearing worn but
all the bearings were replace. What did I do wrong.

You probably set it up wrong. You really need to know what you are doing to rebuild a differential correctly. From NAPA.... Backlash, pinion depth and wear patterns are science and art mixed together.

At this point I would be looking for a good used diff. Why did you have to rebuild a fairly new diff?

The pinion bearing worn out and the same way I took it off I put it back in with all new bearings
