Is there a speed governor on my 2017 Cadillac XTS 3.6 liter engine

Is there a way to override the 136kph max
speed allowance on my 2017 Cadillac XTS
livery edition? Maybe an aftermarket chip?
I'm not a speed demon but on the rare
occasion I have to blow by a highway
obstruction (or hit the local racetrack! ) it
would be nice to know.

136 km/hr is only 86 mph. Are you using the master key? The limiter on your car is probably set at something like 155 mph.

The master key yes but I read somewhere that if I use aftermarket shocks it could inhibit the engine speed. I think it was on Cadillac Forum that I read it. Replaced original (oil leaking!) shocks with Monroe.
Is the check engine light on? I have no idea about the shocks but perhaps a tuner could work around this problem if true.

No check engine light thanks. Just "you've reached maximum speed" warning on dash at 136kph. Thanks for the tips on the tuner though guys. Going to definitely look into a good chip. Car was and is all original equipment except for Monroe shocks.
Hey bro. Some caddy's all you gotta do it hold the select button 9. The steering wheel. And you show see it come up on your dash board. So after that, you can change the speed limit. Most cars are set up to have a max speed of 85. So try that n see. And just Google it. Say, "how do I shut the speed limiter off on my 2021 daddy ( or what ever year your vehicle is) ..
Hi Mike. Not sure what you mean by "select button 9 on steering wheel" sorry. There are no numbers of any kind that I can see when toggling the switch through various display options (fuel consumption, tire pressure, etc). Will try googling as you suggested but I think thats what got me to this forum in the first place. ♂ Also a "Mike". Thanks
