Question type: Maintenance & Repair
just had new starter put in - ran for few days then this problem. have changed
spark plus, spark plug wires, ignition coil, distributor and rotor. Ignition coil
tested and sparked orange but still replaced it and still sparking orange, not
blue. Checked fuel pump, seems to have compression. Nothing's helping!

If this is the 2.6L engine, it has an Igniter mounted on the coil bracket that could be a cause, And if the engine is something else other that the 2.6L, BUT includes the 2.6L, the Ignition Control Module should be checked. They can test these things at some auto parts stores.

Thank you for answering. Its the 3.0L and there is an ignition module labeled "igniter" on the coil bracket like you said. I was going to try that next until I researched more and everyone is seeming to say that if I get a spark at all its not an "spark" issue. (Not any of the things I replaced lol) Three things needed to start an engine being air/compression, fuel and spark. Its the most costly item to get so i was holding back if there was something else to check first. Could it still be the ignition module if I am getting a spark at the coil? Even though color is orange not blue?
Most definitely, orange is not a hot spark, it needs to be white, blueish in color.

Thanks so much. Will try that then.

installed new igniter. still won't start. any other suggestions?
You have everything to make a good spark. So that leaves cleaning up grounds, all ground wires, and probably the biggest thing is the coil. How ever that coil is mounted, scrape the surfaces clean, say where a bolt holds it down. Just go threw and clean any ground you can find.
