Could you explain the difference between gas and hybrid cars? What would be different?

Question type: General

Is it difficult to get use to hybrid driven cars?  Do people like the switch from gas
to hybrid?  What should I expect if I have never owned a hybrid?  Are they
worth the extra money?

A hybrid, if you didn't already know, uses both an internal combustion (gasoline) engine and an electric engine, and switches between the two for greater fuel economy. Because they are mechanically more complex than a typical car, you really want to get a thorough inspection done before signing for any purchases. A hybrid also has a battery for the electric motor that can be very expensive to replace, so don't take a sellers word at face value, have a Honda mechanic look at it. Since you're asking specifically about a Honda Pilot, join a forum dedicated to that model for a better opinion on it by people who own one. Try Piloteers.org or Hondaforum.com. IMO hybrids can be worth the extra cost if you do a lot of commuting and can benefit from the higher gas mileage, if you only use it for short range local driving you won't see as much benefit. The downside is higher maintenance.

Oops, I see you were asking about getting used to DRIVING a Pilot, I thought you were asking about getting a used Pilot. My bad.
