Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Brand new vehicle and I hear like a
sheet metal flopping noise when
driving on uneven pavement in the rear
of the car. Any idea. Also when I fill up
the car and wait till the pump stops,
gas spills but not from the spot

I will bring it in. Would have liked to have an idea what it could be
I have the same thing. The car is only a couple weeks old. I've taken in twice and they have not figured it out. Honda said some of the 2018 Pilots have started to report this problem but they still have not figured it out.
I have the same problem with my 2018 pilot ex. 4x I had it looked at by the certified Honda dealer and finally they said it may be the high pressure fuel pump. They are ordering the part so hopefully it fixes the problem.
If you haven't figured out the answer, we had this and it was the license plate. We added screws to the bottom and the noise went away.
I have the same issue with my 2019 Pilot. It has been to the dealership multiple times before they dithered out it is a known issue with Honda but, Honda doesn’t have a resolution yet. They say it’s the parking brake cable hitting against the “frame”. Honda assures it’s “not” a safety issue. Mean while I’m driving a 50k vehicle that you can hear coming from over a block away!!!
My "18" Ridgeline in for the 5th time as I'm writing this. They say emergency brake cable bracket. Regional Rep. says nothing can be done. Called Honda U.S.A. told them this is the last time. A possible "buy back" situation. Google lemon laws and or auto buy back. 12,000 miles in shop 5 times. NOT EXCEPTABLE!!
Hi SCPrimo, Is this noise that u reported in you 2019 honda pilot, coming from you Ac?
2018 Honda Pilot - OK, we had a cricket “chirping” sound from driver’s side floorboard area. Started at about 40mph. Here’s what it was: “Found underbody splash shield damage and causing noise. Re- secured underbody splash shield - test drove and verified noise is gone.” And it was! Damage could have been from rough ground or driving over something. The tech “re-shaped” the shield and now it’s fine. No more crickets.
