2004 chev colorado transmission slips

Check the color and smell of the fluid, if it's black and has a burnt smell to it then it's too late and it needs overhauled. If the fluid is a bright red in color, then there is a chance that it can be saved. I recommend that you take it to a transmission shop and have it checked. It could be solenoids sticking or something in the valve body.
