2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Asked by Deborah May 01, 2018 at 08:18 AM about the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze LT Turbo Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 Chevy cruze LT with 115k miles on it.
It started getting very high in temp (230-240) and
we changed the thermostat assuming it stopped
opening. It is still staying upwards of 225-233, I
don’t see what else could be the problem.

Does the cooling fan work? Can you check coolant flow through the radiator, cool engine. What temp does it normally run? Any applicable trouble codes?

Seems the fan only works when AC is on but my temperature will still flunctuate 210-228 with AC on. It should stay around the 210-215 range. No check engine light. Going to change temp sensor and see if it helps
