I just bought a 2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude back in June and have had it shut off on me twice. The first time it was the engine throttle control light that came on. They didn't do anything with it, said to just bring it back in if it happens again. Then this past weekend, my battery light came on after I was driving it for a couple of minutes and it just stopped while I was driving like the first time! Luckily, I was safe on a back road with no one behind me but I'm afraid this is going to happen on the interstate or on a busy road. Is this happening to anyone else? What did they tell you? I'm bringing my car into the dealership but wanted to hear from others as well. Thanks in advance!

Omg!! This has happen to me about 5 times. I’ve ask around and I thought I was the only one. The battery like will come on and I have to completely stop and start my car back up. I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee as well. and I got it this past June. It’s pretty scary given that I have my two year old riding with me most of the time

They don’t know at the dealer. They just said bring it back if it happens again.

The same is happening to me. I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee limited, that I'vr had for less than 2 weeks with about 200 miles on it, and it just stalled on me while in stop and go traffic on the highway. All the warning lights came on, and I had to stop and restart it. After a few seconds, it restarted and I was able to drive, but with considerable less power, and the engine check light stayed on. I got home, parked it for about 4 hours or so, cycled the start button between on and off a few times, then started it. The engine check light went away and it now drives normally. I have no idea what's going on, this is the second time this has happened. I'm afraid that if I take it to the dealer, they'll say "well, the engine check light went away, so.....", as opposed to trying to fix the problem.

There is a recall for this. Certified jeep center should already know.

Just had this happen... everything that was described above... and i have already had the recall fixed... The dealership told me it died because it needed an oil change. Im calling Chrysler directly to address this.

I purchased in May, 2018 a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. I thought it was just me...going from a 6 cycle down to a 4 cycle engine with the lack of power and sluggishness. I received the recall notice a few months back for a transmission reset. Dealership did the reset...ran fine for the first 50+ miles and now seems worst then ever! It has never stalled in traffic however, pretty close. I have taken back to where I purchased and they cannot find anything wrong. They drove it for 15 minutes with no issues. Not sure if they drove in traffic or just put it on a machine. Very upsetting! Of course the Lemon Law expires at 12,000 and I have 15,000 on my Jeep. Anyone have any other ideas of who I could contact. The car is very unsafe to drive.

This has happened to me several times I’ve brought to dealership I’m here now just happened again. What is the recall called so I can tell them if they know about it

I have a 2019 jeep cherokee latitude, it has died twice while driving with no light warning and would not restart, had it towed to dealer they told me the spark plugs were dirty (i bought it with 8miles 4/2018, it has 4800 now). Idrive away thinking that seems weird, but maybe something with a new car. 4 days later did the same thing, called the tow by the time he git there an hour later the car started...? Drove it half block died while driving again, towed to dealer and they told me this time there is a code that says low oil and thars why it died.. how come this code did not show up for me? Especially dealer told me he checked that all out the first time, obviously a lie.. so now i've paid the 93.00 for the oil change. Change oil light is now on again. Dealer told me "in jeeps I need to check my oil monthly, every 1000 miles as that is just how jeeps are". This is the craziest thing I have heard of and I am not a very happy camper. Going back to dealer tomorrow morning.. oh and the servive writer at my dealer just continues to blame it back on me, asking for his supervisor. Any suggestions? Contact jeep directly is my next step I think?

Have a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Latitude. Have 19,000 miles. The Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Warning Light just came on yesterday. Was able to drive to dealer, and waiting for results. Will update post when I hear from dealer.

So after work today, my 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude wouldn’t start either. There is no check engine light or anything on the dash. Uconnect screen won’t come on but headlights and alarm work fine so it’s not a battery issue. The engine won’t crank at all. I’ve had it less than 2 weeks. Only 337 miles. Getting it towed in the morning to dealer.

I purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude, this is the 3rd time I've had to put it in the shop for dying on me... first time was told it needed a factory update, second time I was told it was because I was a quart low on oil and that's the reason it keeps dying on me....had my car back for 4 days and here we go again....waiting to see what they tell me this time. I don't feel safe in it, I'm scared I'm gonna get rear ended. I'm not taking my loaner back till they put me in another car!!! So over there excuses!

I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Lattitude plus and that I bought in September of 2018. It has 5K Miles on it and in the past week it has showed a battery just before stalling. This has happened twice. Will keep you posted on what the dealer says

I leased my 2019 Cherokee Latitude turbo in May 2018. Battery indicator kept coming on/off while driving in the Bronx last week and it shut off on me once. Indicator came on again while driving back to NC on I95. Bringing to dealership tomorrow. Between this and the ongoing problem with incoming calls (via Bluetooth/Uconnect) ringing at the highest volume level with no way to lower it, I'd terminate my lease tomorrow if I could!

Why does my 2019 Jeep Compass have a not ready engine temperature too low on the dash do I need to let it warm up before I take off

I just bought a Jeep Cherokee Overland with a V6. Yesterday. At 82 miles it came on after 1 stop at a store. They claim it may be the gas cap sensor. I called service. She told me to move the gas cap stop 3 times. It did not reset. Drove fine except once I pulled out quick with no power. Have 110 miles now. Not happy that I have to leave work monday to get this checked.

Literally exact same thing happened to me. They can't find anything wrong with it and are trying to give me the vehicle back without doing anything to it... um, no thank you. Did some research and there is apparently a recall for this. I have a 2019 jeep Cherokee latitude and it has not died but it went from getting 28 to 30 mpg down to 19mpg

Got my 2019 Cherokee latitude 13 months ago. Have had no problems or issues. [yet] well satisfied except for having to hit the "A" button all the time. Drove too many years with an 'if it dies I got a problem attitude'. Not gonna get used to it shutting off at traffic kites.

OMG!! I have a 2018 Jeep Latitude it has cut off on my several times. Now, my engine light is on. I am taking my car to the dealership today. I only have 36,000 miles on it

I'm glad I stumbled upon this! I also have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk, purchased June 2018. And I'm experiencing the same set of problems. The first time it happened was May of 2019 during a trip to the Smoky mountains. We just got into the mountains when the parking break light came on, then the check engine light and every other warning light. The power steering and breaks went out (awesome on mountain roads let me tell you) and it died...after just rolling 7,000 miles. Jeep had it towed to a local dealership, where they replaced the alternator. After that it was fine for almost another 7,000 miles. We attempted our second vacation with the Jeep, this time to go up north and take a color tour. We got about 120 miles into the trip and the warning lights start coming on and the power goodies shut down. Dead again, at 13,700 miles. Only this time, after letting it sit for several hours, it started back up with no warning lights and made it back to its home dealership. The Jeep is currently being checked out by the dealership...so far the only thing they can tell me is that it had several "high voltage" codes, which are generated by the alternator, but the alternator is good. They generated a "star case" and Chrysler has given them a list of things to check. We shall see if they find anything this time. While checking Google for mention of similar issues I did find a recall case that seemed like it might be something that could cause the problems I and several people here are experiencing, Although my VIN is not part of the recall. I am wondering if more defective parts made it out than they thought and we are the lucky ones who got em. Just happened to me with my daughter in the car. At gas station. Rough idle. Battery light. Car shuts off. We finish the fashion purchase, restart the car and leave. A block away, the car slows, I get a message that the car most be stopped to shift and the "D" light was flashing on the gear shift panel. I safely pulled over in what felt like neutral (tha I God no one was behind me and I was on a local town road). I put the gear into Park and restart. We get gome, 5 blocks away, and the same thing happened while reversing into the driveway. I had rough idles on this vehicle for a little more than the past year and then subsequently a Shifter Control error message multiple times. Dealer couldn't fix it. Finally got a recall notice, took it in and they "reprogrammed the ger shifter" and things seemed fine. That was 4 mo months ago. Now this!!!!! Has anyone gotten this satisfactorily repaired?

An update on my Jeep...back at the dealership for more testing. It is on its 5th week of dealership testing and still nothing... The dealership is still working with Chrysler to investigate the issue. I actually haven't even heard one peep from the dealership in a week and a half so I have no clue what they are even doing at this point. I have no hope of them finding or resolving the issue. This is ridiculous and I am very tired of no having the vehicle I am paying for and all the trips and phone calls and hassles. At this point I think I'll just wait until we hit the consecutive 30 days at the dealership witout resolving the issue and invoke the "lemon law"....and never ever buy another Jeep or Chrysler of Fiat product. If any resolution comes from the testing I will post it. Good Luck All

Wow! I just purchased my 2018 Jeep Cherokee limited in November of 2018 and it just stopped on me in the middle of traffic twice. I took it to the dealership and they said it was low on oil. I didn’t understand that since they are the only ones that touches my vehicle and I had just gotten it changed. This caused me to have to pay for another oil change before it was even due and I had to bring it back to them after I had driven 500 miles. Well during the 500 mile test my dash flashed “service gear shift” and all of the red lights on my gear shift started blinking red. I immediately took a picture and showed it to the service person. And to my surprise they told me that I needed a new motor............whaaaaaaat!!!!! I am on disability so I really don’t go anywhere therefore there’s not a lot of miles on this motor. Kinda disappointed in Jeep thinkin about going back to Chevy.

Well, I’m glad I’m not the only one having these issues. My 2018 Jeep Compass Latitude is back at the dealership for the 6th time in 6 months. At first they told me it was because my oil was low. They have replaced pretty much everything. They just called and said the body control module needs replaced. They promise this will fix it once and for all. They have told me the same thing the last 2 times. I’ll see how that goes. Grrrrr,

Hey Donnarm10, My cherokee is currently in the shop as well. Did the throttle body control module that you got replaced fix your issue? My check engine code previously said Electronic Throttle Control Problem, and all the issues i was having pointed to an issue w/ the throttle control as well, but the dealer is saying that there isn't anything they can do until they are able to check the code themselves...and unfortunately the check engine lights are currently not showing...

So I just had this happen to me (2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 14,000 miles) right after I had picked it up from the Dodge place I bought my car at for getting the A/C fixed. I happened to be down the road at the stop light so I immediately started calling them and put my car in park, pulled my key out, put key back in ignition and it started. When I got back to the dealership they said that because it had sit without being driven that one of my batteries needed to be recharged so I needed to turn off the (A) button and let it be where it would not die in order to charge that battery. I was able to drive to work and well really hoping I make it back home! Anyway hope this helps, I was told if it did it again to bring it back in to get looked at. Honestly I will probably never drive with it in that mode again.

Are these issues with the 4 cylinder engine?

My car is also a 2019 keep Cherokee and it’s been stalling on me and now these lights come on. I called and asked if there was a recall and I was told no. This is beyond frustrating!!
