whats wrong with my cougar the battery aint charging just replaced the alt and had the battery checked

a new alternator . should not charge a low batt. The batt should be charged in that case . Get a multi meter and check your voltage ,batt should be 12.5 V at the batt and with the car running you should get about 14
Check for battery voltage at the big wire on the alternator with the engine turned off and the key off. If you lack battery voltage then I would suspect the fusible link in that wire is open (bad). Also check the small wires at the alternator to see if they are parted under the insulation near the connector.
thank you all but is there a chance it can be the mega fuse in or dos the 02 have them
Maybe follow some of the suggestions and stop trying to make it difficult?
