I bought the car used and I think
the battery is to small. Plus the
radio shuts off at random times
when pressing the sunroof button
or using 1 of the windows.

A 2002 Mercury Sable calls for Group 36R Battery. But what you describe , if your alternator is in good working order that will not happen...or something entirely different is wrong - the radio acting up when window or sunroof usage
CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) 650, CA (Cranking Amps 800, Reserve Capacity 120
The one that is currently in there is a 36S. Should I consider replacing the battery?
The physical dimensions of your battery should be 10 3/8" long --7 1/4" wide and 8 -3/8" tall. That is the OEM specs for a proper tie down when you say 'too small' --- If it is more than 5 years old might be getting weak also
Not unless its giving you trouble starting the car or is more than 5 years old. The Group 36S will not harm your car
I took the battery back to the dealership where I bought the car and they gave me a new battery manufactured in 09/2015, according to the sticker on the side of the battery. This battery actually has 700 cold cranking amps. So my question is that now I have put the new battery in the car, when I turn the key nothing happens for 30 to 60 seconds and then all the dashboard lights pop on. I don't think there is supposed to be a delay but I'm not sure what the problem could be at this point. Do I need to run the car for awhile with the new battery in it?
