What is the cause of this problem, the solution, and the estimated cost?

position sensor being out of adjustment or a shift solenoid needing to be replaced, could be a few hundred dollars...

Could it be the motor mounts? They are notorious for being bad on these cars. Aftermarket ones only last 2 years. The engine rocks in place when they are bad.
