replaced fuel pump on 2.5 v6 2001 mercury cougar but want to stall on acceleration what would be the problem?

wants to stall out on acceleration replaced fuel pump and fuel filter what could be the problem?

The fuel injectors may need cleaning,or replaced,and if you havent changed the plugs may be time to do so.

Mark are you familiar with the 2001 mercury cougars 2.5 v6 dohc fuel system problems including MAS-fuel pressure senser-ect. I seen on another site a few weeks ago where people were having the same type problems but cant remember all the things they said it could be. while parked it will take gas up to about 2500 rpm but the more gas you give it makes itboog down and eventually quit.Thanks for any input you may have.....ANY...lol

Yes ,i familuar with the fuel system,the only other thing you might check would be the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail,

T_S_T I talked to napa and they were suggesting fuel pressure senser for $269.00--lol--would that be basically the same thing as the fuel pressure regulator?----thanks for the reply and any more ideas that you might have.Hate to start putting 269.a whack for their various ideas-----HELP----lol.
