not getting gas is their a fuel sensor

Turn key on. Get under it and hit the center of the gas tank with a hammer.If it kicks on replace the pump.

there is a relay and a fuse to the circuit , you can try that too

99 times out of 100, it's the fuel pump module.

I'm having same problem I changed pump still not starting

have a 2002 mercury sable. it runs and starts but when gets to half a tank will not turn on. its like the car is thinking it is empty. any suggestions?? have spent so much money on this car. I have replaced the sensor. will check the fuel switch in trunk later.. might be fuel pump?
