When I shift to drive, I have to have my foot on the gas or the car shuts off. However the car does not move forward.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I thought the initial problem was the brake
switch because the brake lights wouldn't go
out. Changed the switch, lights still won't go
out. I ended up switching out the air filter,
spark plugs and wires. Now the car won't
move, although it runs.

A '97 Tracer?! Amazing that it still runs- I would say it's time for a new car- or a new used car-
