bad steering column?
I replaced my steering column ignition switch because it was physically damaged & will not turn the car off. I turn it off by pulling a fuse & disconnecting the battery. I can start the car with the new switch but thats it. when i pulled the housing from around the column, i saw that the key cylnder moves a long part towards the front to engage the engine to start when turned clockwise. Should something be connected to that long peice to turn the engine off when turning the key counter clockwise?
