Car reverse jumped

I jumped my van this morning but the jumper
cables were backwards and I fried something out.
I've replaced the battery but still nothing but the
hum of the fuelpump. What can I change now???
I'm a single mom with 2 jobs I'm about to lose
please help

Check all the fuses and relays. The starter relay is likely on the inner fender near the battery. There is a "fusible links" panel that contains several plug in type links, check each of these. (If one blows, you can lose one or more circuits.) These may be named ALT, MAIN, RAD FAN, BLOWER, and will range from 120A to 65A. If you can't visually determine if they are good, you may need to pick up a fuse or circuit tester at a parts store. (your local Walmart may carry basic tools like that as well.) If this doesn't do the trick, post back here for more help.
