Question type: General

Glenn ... I lost my FOB to a rental car, 2019 Chevy Impalla,  Rental dealer will
not provide code key to dealer.  Want me to tow car for 70 miles and then pay
$300 for new key.  Total is like $1000, when I can have new key from dealer for
$100.   Any suggestions to not pay $900 more than needed.

The rental car company doesn't have a key code, keys need to be programmed to the vehicle. Like FOR say's you have to pony up on your mistake. Next time purchase the extra insurance for instances like this.

This was the best answer, and the car did not need to be towed. I left a "facebook"note that motivated the rental company to authorize the purchase of a new key that the dealer could program. I got four pages of instructions on how to marry the key to the car, however, the with the VIN Number the dealer was able to look this all up, and I did not need to tow the car Thanks for some great responses. Facebook along with these answers got the job done,
