Mystery thing on dash of mini cooper s convertible

I have just got a mini Cooper s convertible 2005
but on the dash under and on the right of the
speedometer there is a silver ball looking thing can
anyone help I have added a picture.

it is part of the climate control system / interior temp sensor. It's just funky looking so leave it alone.

It's a metal ball for a magnetic phone holder
