I am having problems getting the ignition key in on my Mini Cooper 02 plate.

I am having problems getting my ignition key in, not all the time but when it wont it takes
ages and lots of wriggling about to get it in, any ideas.

The tumblers are probably getting hung up inside of the lock cylinder. I would first try giving the ignition cylinder a shot of WD-40 to see if that will free it up. Use the red tube and get right in there. If it is still a problem, there may be problems with the tumblers. Possible broken or worn springs, tumblers, etc.. Also as a side note, make sure the key is not excessively worn try using a different, less worn key if you have a spare.
