2019 Toyota Highlander
Asked by Guru1DPZ6 Aug 20, 2019 at 10:40 PM about the 2019 Toyota Highlander Limited Platinum AWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
We just purchased a 2019 Highlander (Limited/Platinum). My husband is
dissatisfied with the ride, short and shocky. Is there a fix for this? Other
shocks, etc..... Our prior car was a 2000 XLS Avalon

I doubt there is any satisfactory fix. You could look into different wheels and tires. If you have 20" wheels going to 17 or 18" wheels and taller profile tires could help.
I think all Highlanders come with 18 in wheels. I'm sure your Husband will get used to the ride over time. If you just bought the vehicle, you might be able to swap the Highlander for a Avalon where the ride is less jarring as an SUV.
Thank you so much for your answers. I so appreciate this web site. The current tire size has a 19" wheel on it (Limited Platinum model Highlander). I am totally unfamiliar with the tires that are on it (TOYO A20 2325/55R19/103T) and have had very little luck on finding any information on them to determine if another tire would offer a better ride and also if the TOYO is causing what I consider tire noise inside the vehicle. We had Avalon's before the Highlander was purchased this January. There were several issues with the newer Avalons, they are much smaller and compact then our prior Avalon's were. But we have noticed that all sedans have gotten smaller and only the high end Mercedes has retained decent cabin size in their sedans. Additionally, while I find the Avalon tougher to squeeze into and out of, my steady partner has Parkinson's and could not even begin to get into the Avalon. The Parkinsons was the main reason for purchasing an SUV. Much easier to get into and out of. Again, thank you so much for the feedback it is greatly appreciated. If either of you are familiar with the TOYO tire's ride and noise I would appreciate your input.
