Why is there some axial play on a new rear wheel bearing? Mitsubishi eclipse
gt 2003, disc brake all around

Needed to pass safety check, and needed a rear wheel bearing. Torqued hub bolts to mitsubishi torque specs. Brand new wheel bearing, and noticed the other side had axial play as well. Checked for specs, and found out there is supposed to have a axial play of 0.002 but the inspector dosen"t pass it because there is play in it. Bearing are not humming, not grinding.
