My mechanic said it was a small part in the fuel line that helps keep pressure in the line. What is this part called? How inexpensive of a fix if you know what you are doing?

The fuel pressure regulator? Not all that expensive but if you have no mechanical experience I would recommend that you have the work done by a pro.

Define not that expensive? I thought that's what he said but I was under the impression you had to drop the tank to fix it, and when I researched it online it looks like it sits close to the engine so I am confused?

I think maybe the part you need is something else. You need to ask the mechanic or look at the quote if you received one.

He didn't give me one because he said it wasn't a necessary repair and he had the same issue on his jeep. All I remember is he said it wasn't the part that was expensive, but the labor. It seems to only happen in the summer or when the front end is pointing up on a slope, so basically the fuel is running back into the tank.

My same car has the same issues!! And I love the car!! Does anyone think it may be o2 censor before and after the cat. Converter??? The diagnostic test (my buddy ran the test, so I don't quite trust his judgement fully) said tha ts what it was I'm just so confused ... I wanna keep this ride as long as I can! I bonded with it too much and rely on it too much to lose it or my life to some dumb fumes/ explosion
