Check engine soon light/ dies

Asked by Deb3693RaymoreMO Mar 12, 2017 at 11:20 PM about the 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What do you think it might be? In
drive rpm's under 1 1/2 it kept
shutting down when I step on gas.....
so i held the break and pushed the
gas it wanted to go but very slow
until I got the rpm's up to 2 then it
would build up speed like normal.
when the rpm's get too 2 and above I
could keep it there.... when at a stop I
had to hold break and push gas ...
then it would die if I didn't push the
gas enough... restart it and push gas
a lilt more and it would go but took
time to engage to regular speed. If I
pushed the gas while in park  (not
holding break) it dies. Don't smell like
its fluding... no smoke. Didn't have
any problems up until now!

You best bet is if the check engine light is on to have the vehicle scanned for any trouble codes. These codes would let you know what is going on, and what to look at for repair. Write down the codes.
