BY THE WAY I RESET THE ALARM AND STILL NOT STARTING
Friendly advice: When you post in all upper case most of the guys will skip over you question, its hard to read and there are too many questions that need attention. Now that being said, with a good starter and battery that leaves solenoid and cables. Possibly the battery black neg-- ground on the frame, or chassis wherever it grounds is not making a connection, the dissimilar metals can lose contact after a while. Also, the safety interlock on brake pedal, it won't start if that is faulty, or same on clutch if manual. Maybe try running a jumper cable from battery Pos+ to starter with key on..but be safe about it in case it does start, don't want you run over by a lurching car--it happens.

Thansk Fordnut I going to ckecked if the battery negative is ground it.
bejeanntte answered 10 years ago
the negative cable is ground it,so don't know what could be
Ok, you have the security covered...so I am thinking the safety interlocks. Those are not as easy to test, not sure how it works on Infinity, but many cars it's the brake light switch, or if automatic try starting in neutral instead of Park..throwing out ideas now. If manual have a look to see if there is a button type switch under clutch pedal and see if it's loose
I meant Mitsubishi not Infinity sorry
If you click on 'related questions' right below this, there is one like yours, turned out to be bad ignition switch. That is especially likely if you have a heavy key-ring, with lots of keys and unnecessary items, flashlight....the weight swinging plays havoc on ignition switches

It may be a shot in the dark, but, make sure you have shifted all the way into park. Once a penny fell in front of the gear shift and my car was not going all the way into park, and would not start when I needed to use my car next....i was a little distraught until i looked down and noticed the penny wedged in there. Pulled it out, problem solved.

hey guys. I own a 2013 lancer ES. My remote key fob stopped working because the battery ran out. I replaced the battery and it doesn`t lock and unlock the doors anymore. The fob because its lights come on and a locksmith checked that and it`s definitely working. I checked the WEB and youtube for reprogramming but all the tutorials were for 05-12 models. I also did the manual instructions but nothing happened. The dealership told me they charge me 220 dollars for that. I only have one fob, it is the only i got from the previous owner. Would you plz help me? thanks
try checking the timing belt
2002 lancer wont start n coolant coming from exhaust pipe
My Mitsubishi 2011 Lancer goes through spells where it will not start at all. I had wonderful mechanic look at it and he did this is not the first time he has heard of this problem. He finally diagnosed it as it is the actual car computer. Finally my car stalled while driving but did not shit off and the msg did display across the dash about the computer system. I shut it off let it set and it ran beautiful again. It is going in the garage and I am thankful that my warranty does cover this.

My Lancer would not start. Thought Id left l'd the fog lights on. Tried to use jumper leads but no. Then had a guy with an electrical meter test the battery. Nothing wrong with it. The got the Automobile Association breakdown guy to come. Just prior to this happening I had dropped my key and it came apart. I had put it back together but as the AA guy found I had left out the electronic chip. Without the chip in the key the electrons work, the radio came on, the doors locked and unlocked and the windows worked but the car wouldn't start. It immobilizes the car. He found the chip on the footpath and inserted it in the key and bingo the car started. One of lifes lessons.
My 2012 Mitsubishi lancer a.c. n heater have no power to it. I checked the fuses and they were all good
where is located the transmission start sensor in lancer 2010 4B11 engine? Thanks
My 2003 lancer also had a random starting problem. It turned out to be a very simple fix. The battery leads on my car have an additional sleeve fitted to the inner of the battery leads to suit batteries with smaller terminals These inner sleeves needed to be taken out and thoroughly cleaned of corrosion as well as cleaning the inner part of the fitting on the end of the lead. Hope your problem is as simple as mine. Good luck. Vic

@PETERjAMEZ We had an issue today with our Lancer, got a mechanic out and all, finally when we got a ride home I looked on here and found your comment about your key and the chip. You did are a LEGEND!! This is exactly what the issue was with our car, the key had fallen apart today, so I put two and two together and we went back to it in my car where we had abandoned it with the spare key. Sure enough, you were absolutely right. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou, you’ve literally just saved us at least a couple hundred in towing!!

Same problem and I just dropped $400 to replace my alternator, yet the issue remains. I found this on another forum and am wondering if anyone has tried the replacing the ignition switch ($40 part)? https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/mitsubishi- lancer-lancer-sportback-11/lancer-ignition- ignition-switch-problem-41601/

Same problem and I just dropped $400 to replace my alternator, yet the issue remains. I found this on another forum and am wondering if anyone has tried the replacing the ignition switch ($40 part)? Note, I’ve had this issue to a lesser degree for years. I just had to turn it really fast and hard and it would usually work. The other day it just got really bad and started taking me a full 5-10 minutes worth of trying to start. I also noticed the other day that I was able to take my key out of the ignition entirely without the engine turning off. I feel like it has something to do with the key/place that the key goes into itself. Here’s the link to the forum that seems like someone found a solution (read all the way down to the part about the Montero) https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/mitsubishi- lancer-lancer-sportback-11/lancer-ignition- ignition-switch-problem-41601/
@peterjames A year on and your comment saved my ass today. My key fell apart when I started the car so it started but stalled. Then just turned over took me an hr lol but i figured it out after reading your comment many thank!!!
