Need to know what wire colors are what?

Asked by uncle Jul 14, 2020 at 05:09 AM about the 1989 Mercury Tracer 2-Door Hatchback FWD

Wire colors at ignition switch. I am trying to install
a generic ignition switch and need a +BAT, +IGN,
ACC, and Starter wire. Which colors are what? All
wires were cut from original switch when i bought
car.   =-(

Green is green, red is red and black is black. Hope this helps.

First find the hot wire which is probably red. The other wires you can figure out by trial and error if you can't find a wiring diagram.

Ohh, I made a mistake...Blue is blue, please ignore the green.
