2002 eclipse gt v6 3.0 crank no start

Asked by Ryan Mar 10, 2016 at 08:46 PM about the 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok, car has spark, fuel pressure, and good
compression. Timing is perfect and all fuses are
good. Not sure about relays or ignition module but
I am understanding if these were bad it would not
have spark. Also I assume crank sensor is good as
car has good spark. It was running one day and
just sputtered and died. I have checked everything I
can think of with no progress. It just keeps
cranking and will not start. It also will not start
when trying to pop the clutch either. Any ideas?

Could this be an issue with anti-theft or ecm would that cause a no spark situation?

If it has spark and fuel, there is no antitheft issue with your car, sounds like it may be a bad igintion switch.

Yes will have spark, just will not be completing the circuit to crank through the PCM,

Thank you, would have this caused the car to sputter and then die?

Should not have caused it to die as you say,if you were driving it when it started this, and you do have good fuel and spark, from what you just stated above, your PCM may be bad.

One more question, should it throw a code? I did have a p0403 code prior to all of this, but that was the only code. I cleared it and now it is showing no codes

What was the issue? Exactly the same thing is happening with my car. Good fuel, spark, compression, timing, everything works as it should, no engine codes
